While we have identified the below focus areas we acknowledge as individuals, we all have multifaceted identities as demonstrated by our agreed definition of diversity. These aspects are interconnected and come together in a unique way for each individual, 塑造个人观点和生活经验.

Increasing access to higher education for all – particularly 学生 from low SES backgrounds, 残疾学生及 土著人和托雷斯海峡岛民的学生 -对HB火博体育很重要. 南加州大学, we have a range of strategies to increase participation rates for these equity groups, 包括学校和社区的愿望建设, 学术准备计划, 校园经历, 文凭, undergraduate programs and a Tertiary Preparation Pathway enabling program.


We also support 学生 from equity groups with initiatives such as 股本助学金, and we offer a range of additional support services for 学生 with 残疾的人. USC support services are designed to increase participation and retention and are accessible to all 学生.


As a university that believes everyone deserves access to education, USC is proud to sit above the national average for access and participation rates for 学生 from low SES backgrounds, 认为自己是土著和托雷斯海峡岛民的学生, 还有有残疾的学生.

USC is a proud member of the Queensland Widening Participation Consortium along with Queensland’s eight public universities and the Department of Education to undertake a range of widening participation activities.

We have a range of plans that outline our strategies to increase access, participation and success for people from low socioeconomic backgrounds, people from regional areas and people who identify as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander – in accordance with the Higher Education Participation and Partnership Program (HEPPP). Our plans provide brief descriptions under the following topics:

  1. Equity outcomes: the achievements the university has planned for 学生 from a low socio-economic status (SES) background.
  2. Strategies: the strategies the university will undertake to support attainment of the equity outcomes.

  4. Evaluation: how the university plans to evaluate the effectiveness of the equity strategies.
  5. Partnerships and collaboration: who the university will partner and collaborate with and how this will improve equity performance.
